A New Year: 2024

New Year’s Resolutions

The new year can provide us with a valuable opportunity to pause, reflect on our lives & past year experiences, and set goals for the days & months to come.

There can be a lot of societal pressure and expectation to become a different, "better" person — physically, professionally, personally... and we can fall into the trap of setting goals that may not be achievable or sustainable, or even aligned with what matters most to us & what we want in our lives.

So instead, we invite you to approach this new year with another mindset:

  • Think about what you truly care about & want to achieve or do (and why — your internal motivation is important!)

  • Find small things you can incorporate into each day / week that contribute toward your (realistic) goals

  • Aim for progress, not perfection — life happens and gets messy, but we can keep going & growing

James Clear's "Power of Tiny Gains" shows how continuous improvement (the dedication to making small changes and improvements every day) makes a significant difference over time.

Because we don't actually need to be perfect people living perfect lives. We just need to keep going.

Our 2024 Goals

We accomplished so much in 2023, but there is more work to do. As we embark on another year, we stay humble and focused on our mission to improve the lives of our guardians.

If this resonates with you, we invite you to also approach the new year with the mindset of how you can make the world a better place and help those who are less fortunate or struggling. Regardless of how someone may appear on the outside, the hardest battles are often fought within our own minds.

There are many ways we can improve our own mental and physical health as individuals, as well as show up for & help each other. But it all starts with taking care of ourselves — by showing ourselves compassion and care, we can extend that to everyone we come in contact with.

We look forward to another year dedicated to veterans & first responders, and we are grateful to have you be part of our journey.
