About the Honolulu Marathon
As the fourth-largest marathon in the U.S. — behind only New York, Chicago, and Boston — the Honolulu Marathon offers a unique experience for runners of all levels. With no time limit, the event welcomes first-time marathoners and seasoned athletes alike, making it an inclusive and celebratory race.
Participants are greeted at the finish line in Kapiolani Park with medals, finisher shirts, and a well-earned selection of local treats, including Hawaiian malasadas. The event isn't just about the run — it’s a celebration of perseverance, community, and the breathtaking beauty of Oahu.
The Course
Runners traverse a stunning course that showcases some of Honolulu’s most iconic landmarks:
Downtown Honolulu – Passing Iolani Palace and dazzling Christmas lights
Waikiki Beach – Running along world-famous shorelines
Diamond Head – A scenic but challenging climb
Kahala & Hawaii Kai – Coastal roads with sweeping ocean views
Back through Diamond Head & Kapiolani Park – The final stretch leading to a triumphant finish

Among our Champions, two runners are guardians or family members of guardians, reinforcing our mission to support those who serve and protect. Their dedication, resilience, and spirit exemplify what it means to be a Guardian Champion.
Each step taken in Honolulu was not just a personal achievement, but a powerful statement of strength and perseverance.
Guardian Champions Went the Distance to make a Difference
Our Champions raised $6,650 to support Guardian Revival’s mission to improve the mental health & well-being of military, veterans, and first responders — our guardians — and their families, at no cost to them.
Every dollar raised supports programs that provide essential mental health resources, peer support, and wellness opportunities for military, veterans, first responders, and their families.
