Another Summit’s 2024 High & Epic Adventures

Another Summit organizes outdoor adventures free of cost to veterans & first responderswalking, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, camping, fishing, snowshoeing, and more!

Our adventures are organized into 3 categories, based on difficulty & distance from civilization:

  • Outings

  • High Adventures

  • Epic Adventures

Outings range from beginner to advanced difficulty levels and are led by our certified outdoor leaders. We welcome guardians of all ages and ability levels, including those with accessibility needs.

Our High and Epic Adventures are world-class opportunities to experience multi-day backcountry adventures led by a team of trained outdoor experts.

These offerings are a chance for you to learn the ropes of backpacking or canoe camping, spend several days in beautiful, remote wilderness, and bond with your fellow guardians, all at no cost.

High Adventures

Fun and challenging, High Adventures offer a range of easy - difficult experiences for you to enjoy camping, backpacking, and canoe-tripping.

DURATION: 2 – 6 day trips

LOCATION: Backcountry areas (an hour or more from civilization), typically in the Northeast / East Coast.

In 2023, we took a group on the Pemi Loop, a 31.5 mile hike over eight of New Hampshire's 4,000 foot peaks. Our group pressed on through long days, challenging terrain, hours of rain, wind, and even hail. The final day was beautiful, and all their effort paid off in an incredible shared experience. You can join us for your own attempt at Pemi this June!

Apply for a High Adventure

Our High Adventures are always open to novices, but applications are required to ensure participants are willing & able to put in the time and effort to train and learn necessary skills prior to the trip.

Epic Adventures

With only a select few offerings organized each year, our Epic Adventures are world-class opportunities to experience multi-day backcountry adventures led by a team of trained outdoor experts.

Epic Adventures are just that — unforgettable, bucket-list experiences that are demanding commitments but incredible & unique opportunities to enjoy beautiful backpacking and canoe camping trips.

DURATION: 7+ day trips

LOCATION: Backcountry areas (an hour or more from civilization), typically in the Northeast / East Coast.

Our Epic Adventure Series is a set of trips & training meant to prepare you to begin your own outdoors story. Participants will receive the following preparation and culminating event:

During our Adirondack canoe camping trip last year in the St. Regis Canoe Area, our group enjoyed quality time together while canoeing, fishing, swimming, wildlife & bird watching, and cooking over an open fire.

This year, we’re embarking on a ten-day canoe expedition along the picturesque Allagash River in Maine.

Apply for an Epic Adventure

Our Epic Adventures are also open to novices, but applications are required to ensure participants are committed to the physical challenge of both the trip and the training. Epic Adventures also involve a mandatory training program with us.
