How to Support Veterans & First Responders This Holiday Season
As we round the corner into the holiday rush and move toward the new year, plenty of people will feel overwhelmed by everything that goes into ensuring that the holiday season is truly special for their loved ones.
From getting everything ready for Thanksgiving and fighting through Black Friday crowds to putting up the Christmas decorations and wrapping all those presents, it’s easy to forget about taking time for yourself to reflect and recharge.
But what if instead of making that mad dash to the Black Friday deals, we stepped away from the chaos to connect with nature and decided to spend a bit of that holiday money to make an impact in the lives of those who give everything to keep us safe?
This year, Guardian Revival is giving you two ways to ditch the holiday crowds and make a difference, starting with our Opt Outside hike on Black Friday and continuing with our Get Out, Give Back campaign on Giving Tuesday. Together, these two events can help you bring a sense of peace and purpose to your holiday season.
Opt Outside: A Black Friday Hike For community & Connection
When Is Black Friday 2024?
Black Friday falls on Friday, November 29, 2024. While the stores will be packed with crowds, Guardian Revival is taking to the trails instead. We’re inviting you to spend this Black Friday in a way that promotes a connection to nature and a sense of community instead of wrestling for the last iPhone on the storeroom floor.
Our Opt Outside campaign is more than just a day in the great outdoors — it’s a way to reclaim the day after Thanksgiving as a day of community, reflection, and support for our veterans, first responders, and military personnel.
This scenic hike to Mount Beacon is transit-accessible, making it easy for participants to step away from the madness of the shopping season, share in stunning views, and show solidarity for those who face the toughest challenges to keep us safe.
