Opt Outside: Mount Beacon
This Black Friday, skip the shopping fever and Opt Outside with your fellow Guardians and community members on a hike to the Mount Beacon Fire Tower for one of the most spectacular views in Hudson Valley.
Shake off that Thanksgiving dinner with us on this 4-mile out-and-back hike on Friday, November 29th. The climb is steep, but well worth the views at the top. Hot apple cider will be served and a prize will be given for the best-looking Thanksgiving Leftover sandwich!
This outing is transit accessible from NYC via the Metro North Hudson Line. Simply hop on the 7:19am or 7:39am Poughkeepsie-bound train from Grand Central station and get off at the Beacon station, where you can walk or take the Beacon Free Loop to the trailhead.
