G-Connect Experiences
Writing Workshop
Improve your writing in a fun and friendly atmosphere — your writing skills will be honed through exposure and analysis of fictional and non-fictional literature, as well as grammatical tips and tricks.
We have already had three sessions of our Writing Workshop with local English teacher Mike Silvestro — and they are probably NOT what you expect!
Our first workshop focused on metaphors — we dissected Theodore Roosevelt's "The Man in the Arena" quote as well as the concept of "The Road Less Traveled"
The second session was about symbols and what they stand for — across literature, music, art, and other areas in life; for example, the American flag 🇺🇸
The third class focused on prepositions — a bit of a "grammar police" topic, but connected it back to symbolism to analyze "The Rose that Grew from Concrete" by Tupac Shakur
