Guardians of the Silver Screen
Interested in the craft of cinema & filmmaking? Join us for our next session of Guardians of the Silver Screen — focused on Gladiator, directed by Ridley Scott.
This is an opportunity for guardians to unite, critique, and celebrate the magic of cinema with First Assistant Editor Kenny Duclos. Guardians of the Silver Screen is a new monthly series, which will feature a different genre every month.
During our November conversation about Gladiator, we will discuss the significance of different symbols in the film, our favorite sequences, some of the issues that the film addresses, life lessons, and our emotional experience watching it.
With director Ridley Scott's new film Napoleon coming out this month (also featuring Joaquin Phoenix), this is great timing to get Kenny's insights on Gladiator and the opportunity to dig into the craft of cinematography.
Come ready with your comments & questions about the film as well as the movie-making process — Kenny is happy to answer them and offer up his unique, behind-the-scenes perspective!
