Glynwood Market

Our September Hudson Valley Adventure is a fun & relaxing walk in the woods and fields of Fahnestock State Park, followed by an optional trip to the Glynwood Farmers' Market!

Our walk will take us through the woods to the scenic Jordan Pond, where we can take a break to enjoy our surroundings. This hike is relatively flat with little elevation gain, but the trail has a few rough spots where you'll have to cross over creeks and boulders.

  • DIFFICULTY: 🟦 Blue (easy)

    • Blue hikes are great for beginners, people short on time, or folks with small children. These hikes are usually no more than 2 miles on relatively flat and even terrain, although not always wheelchair accessible.

  • DISTANCE: 2.63 miles

  • DURATION: 2 - 3 hours

Hudson Valley Adventures

The 4th Saturday of every month, we host adventures in the Hudson Valley — providing veterans & first responders with public transit accessible outings in parks & public lands. We’ll also provide guidance on how to plan your own outings in the future.

  • WHAT: A range of activities — hikes, nature walks, kayaking, meditation, nature education, and more!

  • WHERE: Located in public transit accessible parks throughout the Hudson Valley region (Hudson Highlands State Park, Blue Mountain Reserve, Beacon, etc.)

    • We will reimburse transit expenses with submission of a receipt

  • DIFFICULTY: Rated 🟩 Green (moderate) or lower difficulty, often with multiple difficulty levels available in one outing.

  • DURATION: Four hours or less


Another Summit

Another Summit organizes and leads outdoor adventure activities — such as walking, hiking, backpacking, and paddling — in the Hudson Valley Region of New York.

Another Summit’s outdoor adventures range from beginner to advanced difficulty levels and are led by certified outdoor leaders.

We welcome guardians of all ages and ability levels, including those with accessibility needs, and we work to facilitate access throughout the Hudson Valley and NYC area. Another Summit’s difficulty rating system considers multiple factors, including elevation, terrain, and frequency of rests.

  • 🟪 Purple (easiest) ♿

  • 🟦 Blue (easy)

  • 🟩 Green (moderate)

  • 🟨 Yellow (moderately strenuous)

  • 🟥 Red (strenuous)

  • ⬛ Black (very strenuous)
