Fieldcraft 101 | Spring
Join Another Summit in part 1 of our spring season fieldcraft survival series taking place Saturday, May 4 to Sunday, May 5.
Instructed by Jon Turner β a USMC veteran from Vermont β this 2-part fieldcraft survival series will provide methods to cover basic needs of survival in the wilderness β Shelter, Water, Fire, Food and Tools β by using modern and primitive resources. Each class will highlight multiple approaches to meet these basic needs and there will be several opportunities to test gear in the field.
The 101 course will provide you with a basic understanding of the fundamentals of wilderness survival and the tools and techniques you'll need to survive. Our corresponding Fieldcraft 201 course in June will provide you with a deeper understanding and teach you how to work with fewer resources. If youβre unable to take either of the spring courses, weβre offering them again the fall!
The intent of this series is to build a mindset that increases the capability of survival if confronted with adversity, but to also provide a skillset to work on projects while sitting around the fire at camp which include β containers & utensils, cordage, friction fire sets and traps & triggers. We will also highlight medicinal and functional properties of plants in the region.
Participants are welcome to camp on-site or head home at the end of the day. Class runs from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM each day with a break for lunch. Another Summit is able to provide all the necessary gear for participants who need it.

He served with the Marines between 2003-2007, deploying to Haiti and twice to Iraq. He and his family operate Wild Roots Community Farm and Accipiter Fieldcraft in Central Vermont, where they teach homesteading, wilderness survival and self-rescue.
