Women Guardians Outing | May

For our May Women Guardians Outing, you can join our outdoor leaders, Dawn and Elena, on a hike to the Nimham Mountain Fire Tower near Carmel, NY.

This 2-mile hike follows wooded foot paths and forest roads through a portion of the Nimham Mountain Multiple Use Area, named after Chief Daniel Nimham of the Wappingers Tribe. Towering over 80ft above the peak of Nimham Mountain (1,270ft) the Nimham Mountain Fire Tower provides a stunning 360-degree view of the surrounding hills and lakes of the town of Kent.

  • WHO: Women veterans & first responders

    • Family members are welcome as appropriate for the difficulty level & events, but limited to women & children only to ensure we provide this safe space for our women guardians to gather together.

  • WHEN: Saturday, May 4 @ 10 AM ET

  • WHERE: Nimham Mountain Trailhead

  • DIFFICULTY: 🟦 Blue (easy)

    • Blue adventures are great for first time hikers, people short on time, or folks with small children.

  • DISTANCE: 2 miles

  • DURATION: 1 - 2 hours

Another Summit

Another Summit organizes and leads outdoor adventure activities — such as walking, hiking, backpacking, and paddling — in the Hudson Valley Region of New York & across the Northeast.

We welcome guardians of all ages and ability levels, including those with accessibility needs, and we work to facilitate access throughout the Hudson Valley and NYC area.

Our outdoor adventures range from beginner to advanced difficulty levels and are led by certified outdoor leaders. Another Summit’s difficulty rating system considers multiple factors, including elevation, terrain, and frequency of rests.

  • 🟪 Purple (easiest) ♿

  • 🟦 Blue (easy)

  • 🟩 Green (moderate)

  • 🟨 Yellow (moderately strenuous)

  • 🟥 Red (strenuous)

  • ⬛ Black (very strenuous)
