Transit to Trails | Cornish Estate

Join our outdoor leaders, Joe and Elena, on the third installment of our Transit to Trails series.

This month, we'll travel to Cold Spring, NY, where we will explore the ruins of the old Cornish Estate in the Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve. This 3.72-mile out-and-back hike brings you through the quaint riverside village of Cold Spring, up into the Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve, which covers over 8,000 acres and contains over 70 miles of hiking trails.

This Transit to Trails hike is accessible from NYC via the Metro North Railroad. Simply hop on the 8:50am Poughkeepsie-bound train from Grand Central Station and get off at the Cold Spring station. Trains return to NYC every hour from Cold Spring on the 20-minute mark.
