Red Hill Fire Tower

Join our outdoor leaders Bill and Todd in hiking the Red Hill Fire Tower, just outside of Claryville, NY.

This will be a 3.5-mile out-and-back hike through peaceful Catskill forest with 1200ft of elevation gain to the Red Hill fire tower, where you will have beautiful views of the surrounding Catskill mountains in the prime of fall.

Initiated in 2019 and organized by the DEC, the Catskills Fire Tower Challenge rewards hikers for visiting all six of the Catskill fire towers in one calendar year. Complete the challenge with us and get the commemorative patch! Check out the challenge rules here. Missed hiking a tower with us? Worry not! There will be multiple opportunities to hike each tower in 2024.
