Stonykill Nature Walk
Join our outdoor leaders, Henri and Elena, for a peaceful nature walk along the Sierra Trail at the Stonykill Environmental Education Center in Fishkill.
Late March marks the start of the prime season for viewing native ephemeral wildflowers and spotting migratory birds passing through the area. While occasionally muddy with seasonal rains, this trail is relatively flat along the short one-mile loop and provides several points of interest, including a pond, a meadow, and vernal pools — shallow pools formed from melting snow and ice.
