GUARDIAN WELLNESS WEEKEND

Join us for a weekend of rejuvenation and connection with events designed for both guardians and their families to enhance their wellness through mind, body, music, and connection.

From a cozy campfire to a relaxing hike, a fun ukulele workshop, and calming meditation & yoga sessions, there's something for everyone.

This unique weekend showcases the diverse offerings of Guardian Revival. With events for both guardians and their families, it's a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, recharge, and experience the holistic support our organization provides.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13

iRest with Annie Okerlin
7 - 8 PM ET
Location: GR HQ in Beacon
(Guardians and family welcome)
Enjoy a session of iRest, a form of guided meditation designed to promote relaxation and healing. This practice helps reduce stress, improve sleep, and enhance overall well-being, making it a perfect way to unwind and reconnect. iRest is often used for military & first responders, and we offer it online regularly. Don't miss this chance to experience it in-person with Annie.
*We will provide yoga mats & blankets. BYO pillows if you want!

Campfire with Ed Heegan
8:15 - 9:15 PM ET
Location: GR HQ in Beacon
(Guardians and family welcome)
Our Campfire gatherings focus on various topics related to health and wellness, including the connection between our inner and outer experiences, journaling, mindfulness meditation, and breathwork. Hosted by Ed Heegan, a former FDNY firefighter and Peer Leader with Guardian Revival, this is an open forum and opportunity to listen, learn, and share what's on your mind.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14

Hike with Another Summit
10 AM - 11 AM ET

Location: Dennings Point, Beacon
(Guardians and family welcome)
Enjoy a scenic hike along Fishkill Creek from Madam Brett Park to Dennings Point on the Hudson River, passing the remains of the old Tioronda Hat Works from the 19th century. The trail is easy and mostly flat, making it enjoyable for casual hikers. Recent reviews highlight beautiful views, though there may be some buggy spots, especially near the water.

Ukulele Workshop
2 - 3 PM ET

Location: GR HQ in Beacon
(Guardians only)
Led by Encore's Music Specialist Luc Aussavis and Executive Director Matthew Sorena, this session invites participants to enjoy Hawaii’s favorite instrument, the ukulele, and its spirit of aloha. Experience and explore the healing nature of music in this workshop, designed for guardians of any skill level. No prior music experience is necessary.
*We will have 10 ukuleles to give to guardians who attend. Bring your own if you have one! Guardians who do not own a ukulele and don’t receive one are welcome to come and listen in.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15

Yoga with Janel
10 AM - 11 AM ET

Location: GR HQ in Beacon
(Guardians and family welcome)
Join us for a revitalizing yoga session led by Janel Norton, a veteran and certified yoga instructor. This session is designed to help relax and strengthen both your body and mind. Experience the benefits of yoga, including improved flexibility, muscle strength, and overall well-being.
*We will have yoga mats & blankets available to use. Bring your own if you’d like.

Dog Awarding
11:30 AM ET

Location: Beacon HQ
(Guardians and family welcome)
This special event introduces a puppy and their guardian, celebrating the therapeutic benefits of dog ownership. Boots & Paws provides free companion dogs to veterans and first responders, promoting reduced stress and anxiety, easing depression, and encouraging regular exercise. Join us for a memorable moment!
