DIY (Fire) Tinder Making Workshop
Join Another Summit for an afternoon of DIY fun as we learn to make effective, easy to carry tinders for your 10 Essentials fire kit.
The ability to quickly start a fire can be a life saver in a survival situation. While the forest provides many efficient tinders wet conditions or an unfamiliar environment may slow your ability to find them - that's why many outdoors people choose to carry their own.
In this workshop, we will learn to make several types of DIY "quick tinders" that you can keep and easily recreate at home. Aside from making quick tinders, we will also work on fero rod striking technique. All materials will be provided.
Please note that children are welcome but must be supervised by a parent.

Another Summit organizes and leads outdoor adventure activities — such as walking, hiking, backpacking, and paddling — in the Hudson Valley Region of New York & across the Northeast.
We welcome guardians of all ages and ability levels, including those with accessibility needs, and we work to facilitate access throughout the Hudson Valley and NYC area.
Our outdoor adventures range from beginner to advanced difficulty levels and are led by certified outdoor leaders. Another Summit’s difficulty rating system considers multiple factors, including elevation, terrain, and frequency of rests.
