Join Another Summit for an afternoon of DIY fun as we learn to make effective, easy to carry tinders for your 10 Essentials fire kit. The ability to quickly start a fire can be a life saver in a survival situation. We will learn to make several types of DIY "quick tinders" that you can keep and easily recreate at home. Aside from making quick tinders, we will also work on fero rod striking technique. All materials will be provided. Please note children are welcome but must be supervised by a parent. Come learn to play ukulele with renowned ukulele player & teacher, Kimo Hussey — coming all the way to us from Hawaii! Our Encore music program is collaborating — for the second year in a row — with The Kanikapila Project from Hawaii. Kimo Hussey lives on the island of Kauai and is a retired USAF Lt. Colonel & Vietnam Veteran. Well known in the world of ukulele, he will be bringing his special love, connection, and warmth to us through music.

Join us in honoring our veterans with hikes to the peak of Popolopen Torne just outside of West Point, NY on Nov 10 & 11. Both will be short hikes on the Popolopen Torne Loop, a trail that has gained great significance through the living monument located at its peak, dedicated to fallen soldiers. Covering 1 mile in total, this trail is quite steep in some parts and requires climbing on short sections of rope, but it has a breathtaking 360-degree view from the top. DIFFICULTY: 🟩 Green (moderate)
