Sunrise Scramble
You can join our outdoor leaders, Chuck and Jesse, every Friday at 6 AM for a fast-paced hike to the casino ruins on Mount Beacon! This will be a challenging but rewarding early-morning hike to get your day started off right (and with the time to shower before work). DIFFICULTY: ⬛ Black (very strenuous)
Escarpment Trail Thru-Hike
Spend a long weekend on an amazing three-day, two-night backpacking adventure on one of the most scenic trails in the Catskills as we thru hike the Escarpment trail. While strenuous, we consider this 25-mile thru-hike a beginner-friendly adventure as your experienced leaders will show you the ins & outs of backpacking. DIFFICULTY: 🟥 Red (strenuous)
Sunset Scramble
You can join our outdoor leaders, Elena and Aaron, every Friday at 6 PM for a fast-paced hike to the flagpole on Breakneck Ridge! This will be a challenging but rewarding evening hike to finish off your work-week in high spirits (and get in that cardio!) DIFFICULTY: ⬛ Black (very strenuous)
Fieldcraft 101 | Spring
Join Another Summit in part 1 of our spring season fieldcraft survival series taking place Saturday, May 4 to Sunday, May 5i. The 101 course will provide you with a basic understanding of the fundamentals of wilderness survival and the tools and techniques you'll need to survive. DIFFICULTY: 🟦 Blue (easy)
Women Guardians Outing | May
For our May Women Guardians Outing, you can join our outdoor leaders, Dawn and Elena, on a hike to the Nimham Mountain Fire Tower near Carmel, NY. Towering over 80ft above the peak of Nimham Mountain (1,270ft) the Nimham Mountain Fire Tower provides a stunning 360-degree view of the surrounding hills and lakes of the town of Kent. DIFFICULTY: 🟦Blue (easy)
Diamond Mountain Day Hike
Join our outdoor leaders, Todd and Dawn, for an exciting hike to Pine Meadow Lake. This path will have you hiking along the scenic Stony Brook to Pine Meadow Lake. After enjoying the views of Pine Meadow Lake we will complete our loop by following Stony Brook back to where we started. DIFFICULTY: 🟨 Yellow (moderately strenuous)
Franny Reese State Park Hike
Join our Outdoor Leaders, Dawn and Elena, on a hike at Franny Reese State Park in Highland, NY. This hike will take you along 2.89 miles of hiking and biking trails that follow a historic carriage road and passes by the ruins of a 19th century mansion. An overlook affords amazing views of the Hudson River, Mid-Hudson Bridge, Walkway Over the Hudson, and the city of Poughkeepsie. DIFFICULTY: 🟦Blue (easy)
Mindfulness Walk | Manitou Point
Join our outdoor leaders, Leslie and Lauren, on a peaceful, meditative mindfulness walk at the Manitou Point Preserve just outside of Garrison, NY. On this scenic 2.5-mile walk along the majestic Hudson River, we’ll access the restorative benefits of being in nature as we quietly allow our senses to connect with our surroundings. DIFFICULTY: 🟦Blue (easy)
Balsam Lake Fire Tower
Join our outdoor leaders, Bill and Todd, for the third installment of our Catskills Fire Tower Series. On this 4.2-mile out-and-back adventure we will enjoy a moderate climb past massive glacial erratics, through mixed hardwood forest up to the stand of balsam fir trees surrounding the fire tower that bears their name. DIFFICULTY: 🟨 Yellow (moderately strenuous)
Fieldcraft 201 | Spring
Join Another Summit in part 2 of our spring season fieldcraft survival series taking place Saturday, June 15 to Sunday, June 16. The 201 course will provide you with a deeper understanding of the fundamentals of wilderness survival and the tools and techniques you'll need to survive, with fewer resources than the 101 class. DIFFICULTY: 🟦 Blue (easy)
Allagash River Epic Adventure
This year we invite you to grab your paddle and join us for a truly EPIC adventure as we depart for a week-long canoe trip in the Maine North Woods. You and your team of fellow guardians will travel 82 miles from Indian Brook to Allagash Village on the amazing Allagash River in Maine. On the way you’ll encounter large lakes, waterfalls, class II rapids, and if we are lucky, some of the moose that call this waterway home. DIFFICULTY: 🟥 Red (strenuous)
Raquette River Canoe Adventure
Beat the heat and join us August 3rd - 6th on an exciting four-day canoe adventure in Adirondack Park. On this adventure we will explore the Raquette River, honing our camping and canoeing skills while relaxing with fellow Guardians. Adirondack Park is a vast, 6 million acre Forever Wild Forest Preserve known for its many miles of rugged hiking trails and navigable waterways. We will spend four days and three nights traveling by canoe and camping at iconic Adirondack lean-tos. This trip has minimal portaging — where you carry your gear and canoe from one waterway to another or to avoid an obstacle — and is great for beginners who are looking to learn more about canoe tripping. DIFFICULTY: 🟨 Yellow (moderately strenuous)
Mindfulness Walk | Blue Mountain
Join our outdoor leaders, Leslie and Elena, on a relaxing, meditative mindfulness walk around the Blue Mountain Preserve in Peekskill, NY. During this outing we’ll access the restorative benefits of being in nature as we quietly allow our senses to connect with our surroundings. We’ll also engage in a mindfulness activity centered on the natural elements in our setting. DIFFICULTY: 🟦Blue (easy)

Red Hill Fire Tower
Join outdoor leaders, Bill and Todd, for the second hike in our official Catskills Fire Tower Series. On this hike we will climb 1,167 feet over the course of 1.75 miles to catch a fantastic views of the Catskills high peaks and Roundout Reservoir from the Red Hill observation tower. DIFFICULTY: 🟩 Green (moderate)
Ferncliff Forest Walk
Join our outdoor leaders, Dawn and Elena, on a peaceful walk through the woods of the Ferncliff Forest nature preserve in Rhinebeck. On this 2.7-mile walk through winding forest trails, we'll have plenty of time to stop and admire our surroundings as well as some of Ferncliff Forest's key features -- including the Mount Rutsen fire tower and a scenic pond. DIFFICULTY: 🟦Blue (easy)
Backpacking 101
Come spend the weekend relaxing, learning new skills and making memories with your fellow veterans & first responders on an amazing two-day, one-night backpacking adventure. On this beginner-friendly trip in Harriman State Park, you’ll learn the basics of backpacking from our expert team. DIFFICULTY: 🟨 Yellow (moderately strenuous)
Women Guardians Outing | April
For our April Women Guardians Outing you can join our outdoor leaders, Elena and Dawn, on a wildflower-spotting walk at the Stony Kill Environmental Education Center in Fishkill, followed by a picnic lunch. These early-spring blooms only last for a short time, so lets see how many we can spot! DIFFICULTY: 🟦Blue (easy)
Stonykill Nature Walk
Join our outdoor leaders, Henri and Elena, for a peaceful nature walk along the Sierra Trail at the Stony Kill Environmental Education Center in Fishkill. This trail is relatively flat along the short 1-mile loop and provides several points of interest, including a pond, a meadow, and several vernal pools! DIFFICULTY: 🟦Blue (easy)
Mindfulness Walk | Foundry Brook
Join our outdoor leaders, Leslie and Lauren, on a relaxing, meditative 0.84-mile mindfulness walk around the West Point Foundry Preserve in Cold Spring. During the walk we will engage in a mindfulness activity involving the natural elements in our setting. DIFFICULTY: 🟦Blue (easy)
Upper Esopus Fire Tower
Join our outdoor leaders, Bill and Todd, on the first of our Catskills Fire Tower Series hikes. You'll get to enjoy a level, relatively flat 1.63-mile walk along the Catskill Interpretive Loop trail - learning about the history of the Catskills along the way! DIFFICULTY: 🟦Blue (easy)
Women Guardians Outing | March
For our March Women Guardians Outing you can join our outdoor leaders, Elena and Dawn, in a relaxing 2.67-mile hike to Fishkill Ridge Falls in Beacon, including a brief meditation session by the waterfall! DIFFICULTY: 🟩 Green (moderate)
Farm Lane Nature Walk
Join our outdoor leaders Dawn and Craig in a peaceful Saturday morning nature walk on the Franklin D. Roosevelt Farm Lane Trail, located in the Roosevelt's historic tree plantation. Once a carriage road that connected Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Springwood home with Eleanor Roosevelt’s Val-Kill cottage, the Farm Lane Trail and its surrounding foot paths have become a popular location to explore both nature and the history of one of our past Presidents. DIFFICULTY: 🟦 Blue (easy)
Zealand Falls Snowshoe Adventure
On this multi-day adventure taking place from the Friday 2/23 - Sunday 2/25, you'll get to experience the awe-inspiring beauty of the White Mountains in winter. We'll spend each night in Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) lodging, making for lighter packs and a reprieve from the wet snow. With a 6 - 7 mile hike on your way to and from the Zealand Falls Hut, scenic views include Zealand Falls and the summit of Mt. Hale. DIFFICULTY: 🟥 Red (strenuous)
Mindfulness Walk
Join our outdoor leaders Leslie and Lauren on a relaxing, meditative mindfulness walk around Pelton Pond in Fahnestock State Park, followed by a warming campfire, conversation, and hot cocoa at the Pelton Pond Pavilion. DIFFICULTY: 🟦 Blue (easy)
Overlook Mountain Snowshoe
Join our outdoor leaders Bill & Todd on a snowshoeing adventure to the viewpoint on Overlook Mountain. This 4.41 mile out-and-back snowshoe hike will have you climbing 1,375ft of elevation on a wide carriage path to a breath taking cliffside view of the Hudson River Valley, and one of the Catskill fire towers, which will provide an amazing 360 degree view of the area. On the way you can also stop to explore the ruins of the Overlook Mountain House, a hotel that burned down in the late 1800s. DIFFICULTY: 🟨 Yellow (moderately strenuous)
Women Guardians Outing | February
For our February Women Guardians Outing, you can join our outdoor leaders Elena & Dawn on a rejuvenating nature walk around the scenic Little Stony Point in Cold Spring, followed by lunch in town. On this outing, we'll loop around the small peninsula and stop to explore the beaches lining its edges and admire the view of the river. We'll then make our way up to the rocky outcrop in the middle to enjoy a panoramic view of the river and its surrounding hills and mountains before heading back down for lunch. This outing is public transit accessible via the Cold Spring train station. DIFFICULTY: 🟦 Blue (easy)
Cornish Estate Walk
Join our outdoor leaders Dawn & Elena for an exploratory walk from the Cold Spring train station to the Cornish Estate, a historical site containing the ruins of an estate and dairy farm that burned down and was abandoned in the early 1900s. Along the way you'll get to admire the quaint riverfront village of Cold Spring, home to several beautiful parks and historic sites --- and right on the edge of the Hudson Highlands State Park, which contains over 40 miles of hiking trails. DIFFICULTY: 🟩 Green (moderate)
Beacon River Walk
Join our outdoor leaders Dawn & Elena on a relaxing Saturday morning river walk from Long Dock Park to Madame Brett Park in Beacon. This outing is wheelchair accessible and public transit accessible via the Beacon MNR station. Along the way you'll get to enjoy an idyllic riverfront view, historic ruins, and scenic estuaries that are home to many of New York's native water bird species. DIFFICULTY: 🟦 Blue (easy)
Canopus Lake Hike
Join our outdoor leaders Bill & Todd for a peaceful hike around Pelton Pond and up to the viewpoint at the northern end of Canopus Lake in Fahnestock State Park. This will be an easy hike on moderate terrain that will provide several scenic views of some of Fahnestock's most popular water features, with a chance to see local wildlife like the family of beavers living in Pelton Pond. DIFFICULTY: 🟩 Green (moderate)
New Year’s Day Walk & Hike
Join us in celebrating the new year by getting outside and participating in one of our New Year's Day activities: an easy walk around Little Stony Point or a moderate hike up Bull Hill. DIFFICULTIES: 🟦 Blue (easy) & 🟨 Yellow (moderately strenuous)
New Year’s Eve Sunset Hike
Join us in closing out the last day of 2023 by watching the sunset from the casino ruins viewpoint on Mount Beacon. Bring a friend, something to sit on, and celebrate the end of the year with a beautiful sunset (weather permitting) and great conversation. Hot drinks provided! DIFFICULTY: 🟩 Green (moderate)
Cats Rock Day Hike
Join our Outdoor Leaders Bill and Todd on a peaceful Sunday morning long hike from the scenic Nuclear Lake to the awe inspiring Cats Rock viewpoint. Covering about 7 miles, on this hike you'll make your way around Nuclear Lake and onto the Appalachian Trail. You'll continue along to the northern summit of West Mountain, where you'll be met with an amazing view of the surrounding hills and farms of the Pawling area. DIFFICULTY: 🟨 Yellow (moderately strenuous)
Cornish Estate Nature Walk
Join our Outdoor Leader Dawn on a peaceful, moderate 3.75 mile walk up to the Cornish Estate Ruins in the Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve just outside of Cold Spring. We'll pause to explore the ruins of the old mansion, and work our way all the way up to the old dairy barn at the edge of the property, learning about the history of the estate along the way. DIFFICULTY: 🟩 Green (moderate)
Battery Park City River Walk
Join our Outdoor Leader Jesse M. on a relaxing walk from Battery Park to Rockefeller Park on the Battery Park City Greenway. On this walk you'll be able to admire the beauty of the Hudson and you'll get to explore the many parks that make up the greenway along the bank of the Hudson. Enjoy a Sunday morning walk in Lower Manhattan with fellow veterans and first responders! DIFFICULTY: 🟦 Blue (easy)
Dennings Point River Walk
Join our Outdoor Leader Dawn in a nature walk along the bank of the Hudson River from Long Dock Park to Dennings Point, where you'll stop to explore the beaches and viewpoints and admire the serene beauty of the river! This outing is public transit accessible and wheelchair accessible. DIFFICULTY: 🟦 Blue (easy)

Hubbard Lodge Nature Walk
Join our Outdoor Leader Dawn for a peaceful early-morning nature walk on the Hubbard Loop trail in Fahnestock State Park. On this walk you'll cross several scenic streams, with a chance to see local wildlife. Social dogs welcome. DIFFICULTY: 🟦 Blue (easy)
Rainbow Falls
Join our Outdoor Leaders Dawn and Craig on a peaceful, long nature walk in the scenic Minnewaska State Park Preserve to Rainbow Falls, a beautiful waterfall located just north of Lake Awosting. This walk will stay mostly on the well-maintained Lower Awosting carriage road, with the option to take the more natural, winding Mossy Glen Trail. DIFFICULTY: 🟩 Green (moderate)
Dennings Point
Join our Outdoor Leader Elena in an exploratory nature walk along the bank of the Hudson River from the Beacon train station to Dennings Point, where you'll stop to explore the beaches and viewpoints and admire the serene beauty of the river! This outing is public transit accessible and wheelchair accessible. DIFFICULTY: 🟦 Blue (easy)
Popolopen Torne
Join us on Wednesday, Nov 15 for a hike to the peak of the Popolopen Torne just outside of West Point, NY. This will be a long hike from Fort Montgomery to the Torne, a place that has gained great significance through the living monument located at its peak. Covering 4.95 miles, this trail is mostly flat until you reach the Torne, which is quite steep in some parts and requires climbing on short sections of rope. DIFFICULTY: 🟨 Yellow (moderately strenuous)
